Guča – Capital of Trumpet

One of the most famous manifestations in this part of Europe is a trumpet festival – Dragačevo trumpet festival. The festival is held in the picturesque town of Guča, surrounded by mountains of Golubac, Ovčar and Jelica. The popularity of trumpet in this area dates back to the 19th century. Festival gained immense popularity in recent years, when it recorded over a million visitors from all over the world each year.

Visiting Guča for a few days during the festival in August guarantees a good time with the traditional sounds of trumpets. Also, it guarantees the enjoyment caused by traditional gourmet cuisine – lamb and pork on the spit, the famous “wedding” cabbage, serving meals in the traditional handmade clay bowls.
